What is Community Acupuncture?

Community acupuncture means you share the space with others and pay an affordable price. In our clinic, acupuncture is given in quiet, relaxing, group healing rooms in comfortable reclining chairs. There is no disrobing because we use points on the legs, arms, and head. All you have to do is roll up your sleeves and pant legs.

The points on the extremities can be used to effectively treat any condition, including back pain. We often use “distal” points, which are points far away from the area of concern. For example, we may use points on your opposite leg and ankle for shoulder pain. We find this method to be very effective, as well as accessible in a group setting.

Treating patients in a community setting has many benefits: it’s easy for friends and family members to receive treatment together, it’s often comforting to the patients, the collective energetic field nurtures the entire group, and it makes acupuncture affordable. Community acupuncture improves quality of life, reduces isolation, pain and suffering, and allows people to come in as often as they need to get better.
